SUMMARY:Board Composition and Gender
DESCRIPTION:Board composition is a stark indication of company excellence\, governance\, profitability and success. Quite often these days\, customers\, partners and employees look at a company’s board composition before they engage. Getting an appropriately balanced board is of prime importance. \nThe number of women on company boards (public or private) has been historically disproportionate. In the recent past improvements and retractions to these numbers and the rationale for having women on boards have occurred. However the number remains disproportionately low. \nThis event will focus on three areas: \n\nA brief look at the data\, locally and nationally\, on the share of board seats held by women\nWhat women bring to boards — in profitability\, culture\, and governance\nA practical\, measurable community plan to inform board searches and strengthen board composition\n\nWe’re convening this in partnership with 50/50 Women on Boards\, The Boston Club\, Innovation Women\, and Bentley University\, along with male allies\, so that the full range of stakeholders is at the table. Members of each organization have been invited to attend and take part. \nBobbie Carlton will be a featured speaker at this event.

DESCRIPTION:Speaking isn’t just about sharing your ideas or expertise. It’s one of the most effective ways to build credibility\, attract clients\, open doors to partnerships\, and become the person people think of when they need a product or service.\nThe most successful speakers go beyond giving a great presentation. They have a strategy that starts long before they step on stage and continues long after the applause dies down.\nIn this webinar\, you’ll learn how to use every speaking engagement as a business development opportunity without sounding salesy\, smarmy or turning your presentation into a pitch. Most speaker training focuses on giving a better presentation. This webinar is about getting better business results from the presentations you’re already giving.\nWe’ll explore what successful speakers do…\nBefore you speak:\n– Choose audiences most likely to become customers\, partners\, or advocates.\n– Position themselves as an expert or thought leader – and the answer might be different than you expect\nWhile you speak:\n– Mention products and services without undermining their credibility.\n– Give audiences a compelling reason to stay connected after the presentation.\nAfter you speak:\n– Follow up with organizers and attendees in ways that create long-term relationships.\n– Turn one speaking engagement into referrals\, repeat invitations\, and new business opportunities.\nWhether you’re a consultant\, coach\, founder\, executive\, author or entrepreneur\, you’ll leave with practical\, unexpected strategies you can use at your very next speaking engagement.\nInnovation Women offers an Entrepreneur membership\, designed to support owners\, founders and leaders who want to use speaking to grow their businesses. The comprehensive offering marries an Innovation Women membership with a Lioness Magazine premium membership that includes additional benefits such as coworking sessions\, pitch and publishing opportunities\, inclusion in roundup articles and more. \n🚨 IW Speaker Membership Exclusive
