Four finalists have been selected to compete for up to $300,000 in investment funds during the New Hampshire Tech Alliance’s 2019 TechOut competition: Aisling Organics, an organic cosmetics company; Chyme, a workforce engagement and productivity tool; Clairways, a wearable lung function monitor; and Tanosteel Weapon Security, which offers a smart gun security solution. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.,. Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Manchester Country Club, 180 S. River Rd., Bedford.

The New England-Canada Business Council will host a luncheon forum on the United States Mexico Canada Agreement Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Hanover Inn in Hanover. Panelists will include Congresswoman Annie Kuster, D-2nd Dist., David Alward, Canadian consul general to New England; Marie-Claude Francoeur, of the Quebec Government Office in Boston; Bill Lane, executive director, Trade for America; and New Hampshire Business and Economic Affairs Commissioner Taylor Caswell.
Forum participants will review benefits of the USMCA and its impact on commerce between the U.S. and Canada, as well as the agreement’s effect on cross-border trade between Quebec, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Claremont-based Red River has named Jennifer Hood as its senior vice president of human resources. Most recently, Hood served as vice president of human resources for American Renal Associates.
Great Bay Community College will offer two new advanced manufacturing certificates, a Certificate in Coordinate Measuring Machine Programming and an Industrial Maintenance Certificate, beginning in January 2020. Both programs will be offered at GBCC’s Rochester Campus and are designed for professionals looking to enhance their skills and advance their careers in manufacturing.
