As part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, women’s right the vote, the County of Santa Clara will be hosting a three part virtual event known as the Soup! Salad! Suffrage! Series. Modeled after San Francisco activist Selina Solomons’s $0.05 soup, salad, suffrage lunchtime meetings in San Francisco’s Union Square, these lunches were conducted to include working women aka shop girls to join the earlier women’s suffrage movement.
