March 2016 — and we’re still talking about this?
It was the 80s — I had just graduated from college and started the rounds of interviews that would eventually lead to my first job. “Thank goodness, I don’t have to deal with the bias my mother’s generation dealt with.” Now, 30 years later, I’m interviewing and I heard similar words from one of the young women I was interviewing. Meanwhile, at InnovationWomen, we’re leading efforts to rid the industry of all-male panels at conferences and trade shows.
What do they say? That those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.
This month is Women’s History Month and many organizations are hosting events featuring women who are sharing their stories (Including some with speakers from Innovation Women — like this one tonight with 3/4 of the panel from our database!)
