WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU GET ONSTAGE AT CONFERENCES AND EVENTS
AND SUPPORT GENDER-BALANCED CONFERENCES AND EVENTS
Last week, sharp-eyed reader (and English-major) Rachel wrote us a note last week pointing out an error in our newsletter. She said, “Become a speaker: end all male panels” (one of the sub-heads in our newsletter) is misleading in that it implies the goal is to end all the panels that have men, as opposed to “all-male panels.”
We’re not here to end all male panels. We’re here to make sure women have an equal opportunity to appear in front of an audience, to tell their story, and to connect with potential partners, customers, investors and influencers. We also want to make sure that event managers have the ability to easily assemble great diverse panels and speaking slates. Truly gender-balanced panels may take some industries a little while as the event managers seek out new voices and move beyond the usual suspects.
When we talk about Innovation Women to men, we generally get one of two reactions.

  1. “That’s great! Give me your card so I can pass it on to my wife, sister, mother, daughter, colleague!”
  2. “Oh.” Usually accompanied by a nervous chuckle and a shifting of weight in a getting-ready-to-run posture.

I often feel the need to reassure members of the latter group.  “Not to worry. We’ll help you find great speakers, panel members, moderators, guest lecturers, workshop leaders and expert sources. We’re here to work with you.”

And we’re really here to help get YOU speaking! Make sure your profile is complete, don’t forget your example talks AND check out the opportunities below!

Keep talking,
The Innovation Women Team
P.S. Thanks Rachel! You can proofread our stuff any day!
